Our economy is in crisis. Ordinary people can’t afford even the basics – heating, eating and transport, mortgages are going up and pensions going down. Some of this is down to geo-politics, much of it is home grown. What’s happening, why, where does this go and what are the alternatives? Finally, what is the link between a failing economy and a failing democracy?
To help us understand what happening and find a route map out – we sat down with Richard Murphy. Richard has been doing an amazing job on social media explaining the crisis and the alternatives to it but for years Richard has been burrowing away successfully on tax justice and then wider big economic reform issues – not least driving the work of the Green New Deal and how we pay for the great transition. Through Blogs, Tweets and Books Richard has been central to what a new political economy could and should be.
