Compass Education Conference - December 8th 2012
Compass Education Conference
When: Saturday 8 December 2012
Where: Congress House, London
Key note speaker: Jon Cruddas MP
Workshops include: how we link futher and higher education, education for democracy, education and a sustainable society, wellbeing and education and skills, vocationalism and the economy: recognizing the value of learning by doing
For too long education has been driven by the market, competition and top-down control. It’s time for a fresh start, to reconnect education with the vision of a Good Society.
This one-day event aims to develop a new framework for education based on local collaboration, sustainability, coherence between sectors and a strong sense of public value. It will bring together students, education professionals, policy-makers, trade union and voluntary sector leaders and key figures from business and government.
A varied programme will cover all phases of education and will include thought-provoking speakers and a range of workshops that will enable you to exchange ideas with workshop members and leaders. By the end of the day we plan to produce, with you, a number of key conclusions that may take the form of draft manifesto points.
We will send you more details about the day next month. In the meantime, put it in your diary and we look forward to seeing you there!
